If you have been following, you will know that I was nominated for an Epoch Award, which is such an honor! The nominees were encouraged to write about the nomination and to share what it means to them. In return, we also have a chance to win a $500 Visa Gift Card. I have struggled a little in writing about it, because Jesus says in Matthew 6…
1 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Although I don’t always succeed, it is my heart’s desire to glorify God and God alone when I write or speak about God’s mission we are on. I also want to encourage others to live on mission with God in their everyday walk around lives. I write to testify to God’s faithfulness, His goodness, His hope, love, mercy and grace.

After receiving an email from Epoch Awards today, I thought I would share part of it with you.
Although I will receive my reward in heaven one day, this goes a long way in encouraging us to ‘keep at it’ here on earth…even when things are challenging, the attacks come, and we feel like we are in Satan’s crosshairs. I am grateful for the reminder that God is in control; and I just need to trust him.
